Replacements seem to be coming thick and fast in the UK. This is me, but a few other people I know have similar experiences. Some only sent in a couple of weeks ago:

Service requested 15 Nov, 12th December status changed to pending.
Replacement shipped yesterday (Sat 8th Jan), serial number shows an 8Gb Silver 6G Nano. (Original iPod was a working 2Gb black). Warranty shows expiry in 5 Jan 2012.

And I laughed when The Mail said we'd get the latest generation nano back. Turns out they were actually right!

I HAVE 3 old nano 1 with battery problem and 2 more with the display and battery problem , can i send all 3 or just one under warranty ?
thank you

Consipiracy theory alert on UPS just running in and dropping non-delivery notes without even knocking on doors...if you are not there 3 times, you have to pay to have it delivered a 4th time...so it they get 1 and 2 for without knocking, there's more of a chance of extra revenues for the courrier!

excuse my language, but what a band of jerks seriously...

Anybody else got a wrong tracking number from Apple? It's been 4 days now and still no sign of my iPod—getting worried...

I've receive the mail with the confirmation of the shipment, but i can't get the tracking... i don't know which courier they use and the link in the email can't help me...

Anybody can help me?!

Italy

Same here (Switzerland). The provided tracking number/link is useless. Maybe our ipods haven't left the warehouse and the tracking number isn't active yet.

UK

Sent 1Gb 1st gen with knackered battery 9/12

Received new 8Gb 6th Gen silver today, result!

excuse my language, but what a band of suckers seriously...

I'm onto them though! Once they give you a Delivery failure card, take the UPS InfoNotice number (as distinct from the tracking number) above the bar code and rang them straight away and changed the delivery address to my work address.

Happy to say just taken delivery of my brand new 6th Gen iPod nano 8GB that replaces:

1st generation iPod nano that was unable to hold more than 10 minutes worth of charge and was becoming very unstable on iTunes updates etc. Very happy to get another 6 years worth of iPod with 4x the memory I originally purchased. Thank you Apple.

The details being, Based in the UK, request made on 12 November and been on product replacement pending since 21 November. Received email on 5th January, delivery finally on 9th January

i read that with the new year they start to ship with normal post instead UPS.

This is the reason of the no working link of the tracking number in the email.

Anyone can confirm, it?

Doubt this. Spoke to UPS and they said being Apple, they were not able to leave the package with a neighbour, whilst normally once you receive your first delivery failure note, you can use the UPS InfoNotice number to change delivery to anyone. Also, they need a signature from an adult.

If you are able to, best choice, IMHO is to get hold of the UPS InfoNotice number and change delivery to a work address where someone will be there during working hours to take delivery of stuff.

The problem is that the number in shipment confirmation from apple is not UPS tracking code, and the don't say nothing about it!

It seems we got massively confirmation emails last friday in Spain and some people starting to report units being delivered using standard post service (correos), anyway my two tracking # are not working on their web site.
All units are 6th Gen, 8Gb silver.

Spain

January 7, 2012: Replacement Product Shipped
Shipped via UPS with tracking number 1ZW9V*************

Completely delighted with it. It is in flawless cosmetic condition, and I don't think Apple can be commended enough for this.

UK update

Received mine today (after re-routing UPS to a work address).

8Gb Silver iPod Nano replacing the working white 4Gb Nano i sent in.

Curiously, the sticker on the back warning about listening to high volume audio for prolonged periods of time is in french, though i live in the UK and sent this to Apple UK.

Bottom line, good job Apple :)

Hey, did you have a valid tracking number

tracking number

yes, i had a UPS InfoNotice 12 digit tracking number that worked perfectly on UPS's website.

However, i could not re-route the delivery to a new address using the online tools and had to call. (word of advice here, use the 020 7949 0190 number instead of 0845 787 7877, much cheaper. Also, if you keep selecting 'other' in the switchboard options you will eventually reach a human being, who can redirect you delivery to an alternative address).

Thanks a lot for your reply, my problem is that the tracking number they have sent me isn't valid, so I can't track the iPod nor re-route it...

Received mine the other day, but . UPS guy actually told me it was an empty box to send the iPod back (which confused me no end!) Forgot about it until this morning as I was on my way out the door at the time. Anyway, opened it today and there's an 8GB 6th Gen  iPod nano in there.

...and January 11, 2012 - got it!

it's nice and all, on the bright orange sticker on the back it says among other things: "236 of 3000" and "12/26" - so is there 3000 made, and mine was made on the 26th of december?

tomorrow I will get a new iPhone 4 after the hold button on my nearly one year old phone died... so my tech stuff starts 2012 quite fresh I must say... now, where's that ivy bridge mba 11"? :D
