Not sure of what I'm advancing but I'll give it a shot anyways!
My iPod Nano 1st gen was 1gB and there sending in a 8gB 6th gen model. Surely, if your model was a 2gB version, it's reasonnable for you to hope getting a 16gB 6th gen model.
Guess you'll just have to wait and see!
Just for another point of reference - received my replacement (silver 6th Gen) this morning in UK - delivered by UPS.
No e-mail received and status of repair on apple site STILL showing replacement pending as at 25th November.
so maybe now they are just shipping them without even bothering to change the repair statuses!.

I don't know yet.... It is not specified in the mail. My tracking code is a sequence of 10 numbers and no letters. UPS does not seem to recognize the tracking number.

The replacement just arrived with selektvracht.
Silver 8gb 6th gen. It seems to be new.
My old iPod was in mint condition.

it seems like everyone's getting an 8gb silver nano - i wonder if there's any way to swap it out for a different color at the apple store? the free upgrade is already nice, but being able to get the color you want instead of a default silver is icing on the cake =)
I'd say sell the silver one and use the money to purchase a Nano with the color of your choice

Replacement shipped yesterday, serial number shows an 8Gb Silver 6G Nano. (Original iPod was a working 4Gb white).
Missed the delivery, will be attempted again on Monday. In case anyone was interested, it was shipped using UPS.

Anybody else got a wrong tracking number from Apple? It's been 4 days now and still no sign of my iPodgetting worried...
Consipiracy theory alert on UPS just running in and dropping non-delivery notes without even knocking on doors...if you are not there 3 times, you have to pay to have it delivered a 4th time...so it they get 1 and 2 for without knocking, there's more of a chance of extra revenues for the courrier!
