I Need Help

i know this ad i old but someone just recently stole my ipod and idk how to get the serial number. i dont have the box nore the recite and i know that u gave instructions but i cant seem to find it i have a dell pc. and im looking all around in it and i cant seemt o find it can u please email me at

I know this is an old thread but when I googled something like how to find the serial number from my stolen ipod a couple of days ago, this thread came up. Unfortunately none of the suggestions helped me but I did have success with this suggestion from applecare:

1. Open iTunes.
2. Select 'iTunes' from the menu at the top.
3. Select 'edit'.
4. Select 'System Preferences'.
5. Select the 'Devices' tab. You will see a list of iPods that have connected to iTunes on that computer, hover over the iPod in question and the serial number will appear.

With older versions of iTunes leave out step 3 (Select edit) and skip to step 4.
