For me, it's the perfect running companion.
Lightweight, simple, no nonsense.
Having said that, I'd LOVE to see some updates- higher capacity (there once was a higher capacity shuffle- why not now?), bluetooth (for wireless headphones) both come to mind.

Got the 1st generation stick in a drawer somewhere, and the 4th generation which I still use for running etc.
Best thing with these ones is that you can skip songs, pause etc without looking. Thats impossible with a touch screen. :D

Um, that's why the controller is there on the ear bud cord...

I've got two 'sticks', and use them for mowing, and skiing. They didn't get any use this ski season due to knee surgery, but they would have been out in the thick of it otherwise.

Don't know why people hated on them so much, but I love them... Great for running too, but I use the Nike+ and end up using a Nano for that.

There isn't a controller on every ear bud cord. ;)

True. Keep forgetting. And some stop working after a few good sweaty runs to.

I had a pair of Polk buds dies after less than a week. Couldn't control them at all. Got them swapped under warranty, and by then moved on to the Bose SE-whatevers...

Anyone here still uses an iPod shuffle? I love it for loading up quickly and hitting it on the go. And durable too!

i have a nano and decided to get a shuffle. i like it a lot as my go to ipod. small, durable, simple control and i can even leave it hanging on my headphone without worrying that i might drop or hit it on a wall.

Here I am, first generation shuffle. I got it in November 2006, still running fine. Battery life is not that good anymore, but more than enough to keep me some company while at the gym.
