I already have GoodReader. I just noticed air sharing HD updated. It's able to open files from other app and also able to let other apps open locally stored files. Plus it supports zip format.

so what do you guys think? worth buying?

Worth every penny. If I could only afford 1 app, this would be the app I buy. I vouche for it 100%

What's New in Version 1.0.1

Now you can select a file in Mail or another app, and Open In Air Sharing HD.

Now you can select a file in Air Sharing HD, and Open In another app, like Pages or Keynote.

I can even copy a file from my web server and paste it to my ipad.

If you already have Goodreader why would you need another? Air Sharing is kind of expensive.

I think airsharing does all types of files (including video and pictures), while good reader is only for documents. Airsharing also has some nice features like password protection when other people open the device, syntax highlighting for code, and the ability to fullscreen a video during playback in portrait mode.

good reader works with all apple compliant video formats. that's how i watch formula 1

I read that you can print with Air Sharing HD?

a couple of questions:

1. can you create a document with Pages, and print it with AIr Sharing?
if so, how? email it to yourself or can u pull it directly?

2. i read u can print to "shared printer" on a mac.
what if my printer is hooked up to an Airport.. so it's wireless and all my macs can print to it
would this work?

3. can you view files from Dropbox? - print files in Dropbox?

Thanks!

i use iPhoneExplorer, personally i find the hard connect easier and faster than air sharing.

This is incorrect. GoodReader can open video, photos and other formats - not just docs.

I'm still deciding whether I should get GoodReader or Air Sharing HD...

Air Sharing is able to open files using other apps and print. Is there something GoodReader can do, while Air Sharing can't?

The ability to open files directly into other apps is a killer feature. I wonder if good reader or filebrowser will update with that functionality. $10 is a bit much.

Strange, because it wouldn't open the avi files i uploaded to it last night. Do you have the app and been able to do that?

Air Sharing doesn't let you open documents using other apps. It views them it's own browser and only allows emailing or printing.

Yes, actually you can, and I do. The files do however need to be in air sharing folder as opposed to air sharing showing it in your iDisk.

Well I can't figure out how to do it. All I can do is view, print & email. So how do you do it?

Aha. I just figured it out. You have to click the Edit button at the top of the file browser. Then highlight the doc, then select the option. It's not very intuitive. That EDIT button is usually for arranging or deleting. There should be on option from the viewer for all actions.

Cool feature though. Thanks

Personally, I use stream to me. I had the air video free, which obviously you can't compare to a paid version, but I like stream to me's interface and functionality a lot better.

I think you're in the wrong thread. This is about "Air Sharing HD". It's for document management.

On second thought, I just looked in the app store and it appears that air video for iPad just got released yesterday and it is quite slick lookin. Almost looks like a dvr for your iPad. Very nice interface.

Air Sharing HD and Air Sharing are good applications to be sure, but I'm not sure I would buy Air Sharing HD.

We expect a lot from developers for a good price. Air Sharing for the iPhone started out as a more expensive application and became cheaper. The real rub for me is that I bought it and they released Air Sharing Pro with more features that I feel I should have received with Air Sharing itself.

How long until we see Air Sharing HD Pro?
