I came from a 2014 13" MBP. For day-to-day tasks it doesn't feel like a huge improvement, but for dedicated tasks its a big difference. Regardless, I'm glad I upgraded.

I am now trying to figure out what to do about my other MacBooks because all I want to do is use this one. I am in love. Logic tells me I should return it and get the second gen version of it and I will eventually run into some major problems, but I don't want to take it back lol.
you are right, they don’t need you to fight. The return policy exists for a reason, and there’s nothing wrong with returning it within the timeframe. Please don't return the M1 Mac you're so impressed with.
"Logic tells me I should return it and get the second gen version of it ..." Really? What do ethics tell you? You knew it was first generation Apple Silicon, and it exceeds your expectations, so act in good faith.
I know Apple don't need me to fight their corner, and I know they can well afford returns policy abuse. But every time I read posts like yours, and there are very many on this forum, a little of my faith in the inherent decency of humanity dies.
Yes but @Spudlicious was taking about returning a perfectly good working item for no good reason.......and NOT returning it due to a fault or problem.you are right, they don’t need you to fight. The return policy exists for a reason, and there’s nothing wrong with returning it within the timeframe.

Then again, I have never bought anything with the intention of it being "Just to test it out" type of purchase...I buy things with the intention of keeping said item.....and only returning it if its not working correctly.

That’s not the reason a return policy exists..it’s not for returning it only in the case of a fault.Yes but @Spudlicious was taking about returning a perfectly good working item for no good reason.......and NOT returning it due to a fault or problem.

I've bought multiple things from the Apple Store because I know they have the two week no questions asked return policy. On several occasions I've dithered over a purchase in the Apple Store for the Apple Store person to tell me that I could always just buy the item first, try it out in my normal use case, and bring it back for a full refund if I find out it doesn't work for me.Yes but @Spudlicious was taking about returning a perfectly good working item for no good reason.......and NOT returning it due to a fault or problem.

Hey Foiden,Absolutely. I've even moved my Music software from my aging 2015 iMac to this machine and the difference is astounding. My full orchestrations, which I worked through the limitations of the older Macs I had, seem to take hardly any toll on the MB Air M1 I got. Now I am free to push more intensive projects with this.
I do plan to replace my desktop so I think I'll wait for the next major brand of iMac to be the new dedicated desktop. But for now, this is my new workhorse until the new more powerful Arm-based desktops arrive. My intention was simply to replace my previous 2019 MacBook Air, (which I used for MainStage gigging) but didn't expect it to become my most powerful Mac I owned, by a long shot. Glad I got the 16GB, 1TB SSD options. So obviously, the desktop I get has to be better so I don't end up moving projects to the desktop and realize I can't work there.
I'm also excited for all the extra ARM support that will be ready by the time I can get that ARM Mac Desktop.
So I wanted to report my battery life after my first full day with my m1 pro. I unplugged at 8am used it till 2:30. Used it again from 7:30 till 9:30 and still have 50% yet. Mind=blown!

No, logic isn't telling you anything because for you to love this product as you've stated then it's not logical to return it. It's only your curiosity. Honestly I never understand these types of posts. Why buy a computer you don't really need? If you're gonna keep chasing specs then you never needed it in the first place.Logic tells me I should return it and get the second gen version of it and I will eventually run into some major problems, but I don't want to take it back lol.
I must say, I have always been 'anti-mac' for a very long time. The reason why I switched was simply because of the M1 chip. I can see this being a massive shakeup in the cpu/gpu industry as intel has been primarily concerned about their shareholders than developing actual products. I believe the "recent" move by AMD with their Ryzen line and Apple revealing their own M1 silicon really shows how empty and horribly run Intel has been and how stagnant the industry has been for a while.512 gb 8gb Space Gray Pro owner here. If Blizzard announce that Overwatch 2 will have a Mac version, i'll seriously consider it.to be honest I might go the mac route for desktops too since the cost of a gaming pc is quickly rising out of my range.
Want to see what Apple does with the new 16in, if they have a AMD GPU mobile Radeon card inside it would be good for gaming. The only thing I have seen running on the M1 a year ago was Tomb Raider running at 1080P low Resolution. I also want to see if Apple does a Mac Mini Pro tower. If Blizzard announce that Overwatch 2 will have a Mac version, i'll seriously consider it.
I don't expect Apple to move away from integrated graphics, however I do expect the "M1X" (that will be in the higher performance MBP and iMac) to be way more capable in the graphics category.Want to see what Apple does with the new 16in, if they have a AMD GPU mobile Radeon card inside it would be good for gaming.
