I’m not a fan of applying screen protectors on my iPad Pro. I use a high quality lint-free cloth and wpie the screen regularly to remove any dirt or smudges on the screen. I also minimise touching the screen by using a trackpad and a cursor to interact with my iPad Pro.

I am obsessive when it comes to keeping my screen smudge and dirt free.

So, I tore off my iCarez screen protector on my iPhone and my iPad. Initially was impressed by the slightly sharper screen quality but later in the day I realized that the finger prints and the glare when using outside was annoying so... I popped one back on my iPhone (had one already) and ordered more for my iPad.

The iPhone clarity is barely noticeable with the screen protector. The iPad has a little more clarity loss but the reduced glare, lack of fingerprints, and apple pencil is a lot more pleasant to use imo.

Always good to try the other side of the fence to know what you want. May cost a little more but now I know I'm sure I'm going to keep using these. :p

I have the same problem with my iPad Air 3. Screen needs to be wiped 4 or 5 times a day. My old iPad Mini 3 does not have that issue. I use it every day also and I can’t remember the last time the Mini needed to be cleaned. There must be a difference in the glass used on these two. They are definitely not the same material. Wish I knew.

Same for me. The iPad seems to be so much worse for this it seems. My iPhone XR isn't anywhere near as bad.

Same with me, I also try to minimize typing on the full screen keyboard as much as possible. So how do you deal when you have to type something on your iPad ?

I still use the on-screen keyboard. But I also clean the screen a lot. One thing I have noticed is that, if I keep my hands out of my hair (which I do unconsciously), it minimizes the smears on the screen!

I installed a matte screen protector and don’t have smudges anymore. But the display is grainy and have to put it at 80% brightness.

I’ve been using a “Paper feel” screen protector for a few days now.
Love it.

Much better than dealing with the glass and the pencil has great interaction with it. Gives it that little resistance that lets you pinpoint the pencil when writing and drawing.

Which matte protector did you purchase? I use iCarez and I don't have to up my brightness at all (unless I'm in some REALLY bright sunlight).

Apple has warned against excessive cleaning of the Screen. Beware !

Where has Apple warned of excessive cleaning? I've only seen warnings on particular cleaning materials.

I bought paperlike, but I would not recommend it. Overpriced and seems like there are better quality screens (less grainy) out (but it comes with two so maybe that's why it's expensive). I'm going to wait for Uni to start again and if its not good, I will just the iPad without a screen filter.

I have used these on my iPP 11 (2018), 11 (2020) and awaiting delivery of one for my new 12.9 (2020).

Very impressed by the quality of the product (especially for the price - and you get two per pack!), ease of installation and the finished result - no smudges or glare and a nice controlled feel when using the Apple Pencil

Quick spray of Zep brand foaming glass cleaner, then wipe with a bit of newspaper (trust me on this, it leaves NO streaks). The newsprint is key though.

I unpackaged my iPad today, and just setting it up caused huge fingerprint marks.

definitely more than my iphone (currently using 11 pro) and previous ipads I’ve had.
