My work has given me £1,100 to buy a new PC. If I don't use it, I'll lose it. So I am very interested in the new iMac release schedule.

I work in education (so we'll get discount) and that figure excludes VAT, so I'm looking at a £1500 iMac when they come out.

Apple's in a bit of a bind last I heard... they would very much like to update the iMac now, but cannot until Intel starts delivering fixed Sandy Bridge chipsets in volume. I haven't heard any news from Intel on this front, but initial predictions suggested that volume production would finally get going this month (April 2011). If that turns out to be true, iMac updates will follow shortly thereafter.

I'm going to wait till iMac comes pre installed with lion ... Hopefully by then any software/hardware issues would have been sorted out .. It does mean however that I may have to wait till July possibly ??? But I will wait for the fruit of patience is always sweet my friends !!
