That's rather judgmental. I can pay for a replacement phone outright, but I still pay the extra $3 for theft/loss protection.I didn't mean put away $3.50 each month.
I think the OP is better served taking care of replacement cost outright, should something happen. If he can't pay for a replacement phone outright, that says to me that he is living beyond his means and paying extra for loss and theft doesn't help the financial station.
