My Mac runs slow, outlook crashes. Apps take too long to open. What, other than Clean my Mac, can I do?
I use " app cleaner & uninstaller ".
when I downloaded Cleanmymac and uninstalled it, it left so much leftover files behind which " app cleaner and uninstaller " removed beautifully, so yeah I recommend that app because it actually does some work.

Onyx has always been the king of 'optimisers' as far as I'm aware. 100% free, both in terms of cost and of malware. I've used it since the days of the iMac G5 and still keep a copy around.

The only similar application I use on my Mac and Windows computers is CCleaner because it's light and not filled with malware like CleanMyMac is, and I am telling you that from experience rather than speculation.
I was a fan of CCleaner, mostly Windows. But then read it was sold, changed hands, and went downhill. Not what it once was. So i don't know if that's still true.

After extensive testing it on Mojave, Catalina and Big Sur. CleanMyMac is a terrible software. Only thing its good for, is deleting Purgeable Storage space.

Optimization and Maintenance options, has slowdown my MBA after each use. It would take almost a week for my MBA to boot and every app to load at a normal speed.

Not a good software IMHO.

For uninstalling programs, I use App Cleaner & Uninstaller. I haven't observed any issues in the past 3 years so far.
