People all have different apps and different use for phones and the testing is really done by a small % of people. Phone software is so complex as it the applications run on it.

I'm relatively new here, and to "smart phones" as well, and I'm surprised at how many issues people are having with their iPhone 14's!
Did this happen with the iPhone 12, iPhone 11.................?

One word:

Yep!

As most other people have said, yes. You will read some of the most ridiculous things you have ever read every time a new iPhone rolls around. Some of it so petty and meaningless that I don't even bother engaging with them.

People with extreme OCD, people with buyers remorse, people who expected the next coming of Christ, and people who get bored very easily. There is probably also an element of disguised Android trolls and maybe even Android phone manufacturers adding in some sneaky negativity where possible too.

The 512GB 14 Pro Max in the EU is available for the same price as the 512GB 14" MBP. At that point people start expecting miracles, it's not like the iPhone can cost anywhere near as much to manufacture. The miracles I am talking about is simple things such as delivering the phones with a non-buggy iOS version and a promised AOD that actually remains always on.

I got a cheap phone once that came with a tiny dent out of the box - if that were an iPhone most people would ask Apple to make it right, or outright return it. It's about the context surrounding these iPhones, the advertising Apple does and how simple tasks like syncing your music library are atrociously bad and time-consuming.

Yet while everyone agrees a scratch on a brand new 1k iPhone is unacceptable, when mentioning the software issues you get replies along the lines of "I have no issues" when they don't even use that feature or the Apple response "you are holding doing it wrong".

Was the launch of the iPhone 13 series as fraught with problems & complaints as much as the 14 series?
My first iPhone was a 13 pro, but I think I would have gone "android" had I seen as many complaints and/or issues before that purchase.
