I just today got a USB C to Lightning cable and am experiencing the wonders of fast charging. I am convinced I can't go back to normal/slow charging anymore. My only concern is, are there issues with fast charge shortening battery life compared to normal/slow charging?

I was just talking to an Apple employee and asking about fast charging. She said she uses the fast charger with the USB-c cable and her husband sticks to the slower brick that comes with the phone. After using them for awhile, her battery health was down to 92% while her husbands was 99%. So the question is, does fast charging degrade your battery overall health over time? Or should you just stick to using what came with the phone and charge over night?

But what about their usage? Does she play Candy Crush for hours, while he just uses it for messages and phone calls? I think usage probably has more of an effect on battery health than fast charging.

Personally, I've been using a wireless charger for the past year on my iPhone X at night, and my battery health is at 100%.

Every phone bar the iPhone has had fast charging for donkeys years, and nobody is experiencing accelerated battery degradation. Just get on with life I reckon
