Its not as if the iPhone doesn't actually have a file system. But if your working from within the IDE you don't actually care where the files themselves are located.

And if you are hard coding directories into your application that is generally bad anyway.

You obviously have NO clue how development is done, so stop digging.

Actually I do. Maybe you need to explain yourself better?

Just because you relative path directories, doesn't mean you already have automatic data deployment in place. Thus the need to manually move data around DURING development/unit testing. Of course a shipped product should just work with data automatically pushed/pulled to the proper locations. But the idea that developers can code on iOS is laughable.

I don't mind gizmodo. I drop by regularly.

Gizmodo regularly pumps out these articles like "The Desktop is Dead" and other such b.s.
Gizmodo do can hardly be singled out for a "desktop is dead" article. They're all over tech sites on the web. And for me they largely are dead for what I use a computer for.

Thus the need to manually move data around DURING development/unit testing.

Surely the best is to avoid doing this if at all possible, e.g. if you need to run the same test on multiple files to have two tests that are child classes of a shared parent.

Otherwise how do you keep the code clean in the source code repository.

I love Lifehacker (Gizmodo's sister site) but I tend to just use Machash.com for my news.

+1 for Lifehacker

I tend to treat Gizmodo like a tabloid, which isn't a stretch seeing it's a part of the Gawker Media family. I think it could've handled the iPhone debacle a lot better, but now they play victim and dig for negative press on Apple. A lot of Gawker sites run their business similarly. It's shock media. Treat it as it frames itself.

For news I tend to stick with MR, Engadget, Gdgt and Lifehacker. Sometimes i'll check Giz for a good laugh.

I don't think its that bad. Yeah many of the apple fanboys are backing up Jobs over gizmodo/iPhone prototype debacle but generally it has useful info.

I usually hit engadget and the gizmodo to get my morning tech news.
