i know Apple took it of Some beta because they had to work on it, but anyone has an idea to when they’ll bring it back....it’s a feature that I’ve been waiting for for year

No. Some future point update. My guess is we’ll get 11.1 in a few months with it and iMessage Apple Pay.

I really hope this will fix the issue of always having multiple threads in group chats, some messages only appearing on some devices, some users being added multiple times in a group chat etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

I was thinking the same thing about data protection. Even encrypted, I wonder if having the messages in the cloud or on their servers changes Apples legal responsibilities and/or could allow a third party access to enough data to worry about decryption.
But this seems to go against what has already been there ... hand-off; seems to keep messages in iCloud even if temporary to pass onto your other Apple devices (iOS/Mac OS currently). So in some way this already is considered in some level by Apple; N'est pas?
It was dropped during beta because it didn’t work for what seemed like 50% of beta testers. (I was lucky enough to be someone it worked for)
So it definitely needed some backend work.
Seeing as it’s not looking like it’ll be in 11.1, the likely bet would be it’ll be the feature saved for 11.2 (with possibly Apple Cash through iMessage as well)
Is icloud text messages via 11.2 a guess.

I agree, though what is the technical reason for the delay.
Maybe I’m being selfish as icloud text messages were working via an earlier beta.
My expectations once feature was removed were maybe ios11 full release.

As of now it's been removed from everything, it doesn't even say it's "coming later" so it's entirely possible that it's just been scrapped.
I just noticed that today as well. Thats very disappointing. I don't care about the being able to restore a phone as new and keep my messages (I never keep messages), its the deleting once and removes it from all devices I wanted. I have 5 devices and deleting 5 times in really a pain.
I'm not seeing it. I'm looking at old versions of the webpage and just edited my post to include the Apple Pay section. Messages is exactly the same as it is now.
Can you post the webarchive link, I can dig around. I know for a fact it said it in September, it was posted on the forums.

Quickly looking at the link, its weird that there are zero captures of the website from June to Mid-Sept.
That link was definitely live, and it definitely had Messages in the Cloud.

Apple Magic. You’re remembering wrong. Apple has never mentioned iCloud Messages. We all just dreamt it.

The only place I see it officially mentioned is the WWDC keynote.
