Drop the attitude, please. We're on an Internet forum...

No attitude implied. If you aren't a developer, should you really be trying to get a beta release of an OS that is restricted to developers?

If so, you get what you pay for when everything crashes, and you shouldn't complain when it does.

whenever a download takes me to the page featured for the b3 jailbreak I get nervous.

My spidey sense tells me not to use that beta jailbreak...

Who is complaining about it crashing? I thought the whole point was that the 7.1 betas actually seemed more stable than 7.0.4.

If your trying to get the point across that if your not a developer that you shouldn't be using the beta...then erm, sorry but aren't you in the wrong forum section? We are in the section about rooting and hacking the operating system. You think people here care about who should be using the beta and how they get it?

Probably best to wait a couple of days and see if the evaders update it 'officially', unless people are super worried about a 7.0.5 release coming - but then wouldn't they have patched b3 first :D?

I downloaded it and tried running it on a VM and nothing happened. Digging in to the app itself, the package has an odd reference to iPhoneItalia.com. Haven't had time to see what that does, but I would stay away from this.

Never said that people would care. Just that they get the results that they get when they end up using something which they don't know how it will perform and assume that it will work/perform like a full release or a GM, when we all know that the beta are susceptible to bugs, crashes, or worse.

and not everyone here cares about using a beta. A big concern of everyone here should be if the next production release will be jailbreakable, not the next beta. The betas can and will expire, leaving those without a dev account and using it out in the water, having to either downgrade or upgrade, depending on which one comes next.

My point is that some people who aren't used to or don't have a clue about how a programming cycle works (for example, agile) have no real right to complain about the problems they face when they accept their risks willy-nilly, and have no way to get out of what they got themselves into.

A lot of people are already screwed anyway. Sn0w tweeted that only removing the release type value would stop expiry and that has probably spread pretty far. Sure anyone who visits the forums often will know it won't work but I bet there's a load of people that are going to tweet sn0w come Jan 27th about how they have lost their jailbreak (and probably to their knowledge their device too :p).

Fact is, if they won't listen to Apple's advice about beta they probably won't listen to you or anyone else here. And really...it's the jailbreak section, might as well let people be free to do what they want here at least - if they screw up then fine...it's their device and they will learn from their mistakes.

Developers of tweaks and/or apps are already refusing support to people on betas so it isn't much of a hassle/extra work for them either.

Bro, we paid ALOT for our devices that are FORCed to run iOS 7.0.4, Apples best offering to us non "devs".

Please don't come to the jailbreaking forum and start this mess up about devs vs non devs. It's gotten SOOO old already.

I completely agree. Besides that, we JB our devices. What else does he expect from us? We obviously aren't little angels that follow the rules, although it is legal to JB now. :)

What I expect is to not hear any crap about "wah! I updated to 7.1 Beta 3 and xxx doesn't work! how can I go back?!!!?" by people who didn't pay for the beta, and jumped in head first without knowing what to expect from a BETA, that may or may not be completely buggy. They made their bed of roses; they should also expect the thorns to bit them as well.

again, Jailbreaking isn't the concern; it is those who didn't pay for it, jumping in head first, and not being wary of the issues that may come along with it.

Hey! There's that attitude they were talking about! Get off of here please. You don't belong. If someone comes asking for help, we will help them. We don't care what you think about it personally and whatever you say isn't going to change anything. We are all, honestly, tired f people like you coming here talking crap to us when we all know that you have to start somewhere. Let them learn from their mistakes so they don't make them again, but it doesn't mean you have to be an a$$. So again, please step off.

So you're a sysadmin hum...
it's like my 10 year old nephew telling me he wants to become a cop...the irony !

Edit : for those with the ''yellow tint'' screens, it looks like we'll be able to fix it with ''Reduce white point'' feature ! thats awesome !

Fingers crossed. I would absolutely LOVE to jailbreak 7.1.

Wasn't there an update during ios5 that Apple never patched? I'm pretty sure they jailbroke 5.1 then apple released 5.1.1 and didn't patch the jailbreak. I could be wrong.

Anyone remember this? Am I wrong? (It's very possible but I feel like apple gave three us a bone a couple years ago when the jailbreak was so close to a minor update).

don't think iOS 5.1 was ever jailbroken, 5.0.1 & 5.1.1 were jailbroken though

if anyone interested in the unofficial evasion patch to work on beta 3 for windows let me know, i just hex edited it to work on windows.

btw can we post download links here?

I'd like it. Have you tried it yourself and confirmed that it works?
