iPad mini Is iPad mini 4 still viable?

Hope so. I just picked one up to use as a book reading and media device.

No at this point it needs a A10 but we know that won't happen. Apple needs to just refresh the iPad Pro and Mini to have a fresh lineup.

Yeah i an A10 would be even better but i wouldnt go as far as that it needs it. A9 to A10 is not a huge difference, A8 to A9 is a bigger jump.

I had waited until after the press release that announced the new "lower cost" 9.7" iPad, hoping for a refreshed Mini with at least an A9. I bought the current Mini 4 after I concluded that Apple will probably not update the Mini anytime soon, if ever. Admittedly, the $100 lower price for the 128 GB model was an inducement as well.

It's old tech by now with its A8 chip. It will still work perfectly but not a good buy going forwards.
