These are the only settings related to video within OBS on a Mac I can find. I have it on Hardware Encoder over x264 because a guide I read online said it offers better performance. I can tinker with it more and see if it performs better on x264, etc.

The CPU preset is non existent on a Mac as far as I can see. I know it's available on PC though, as I have used it there.

I'm doing about 6,000 kb/s. My internet seems to be able to handle it. I've done multiple tests and don't see why I wouldn't be able to upload this amount of volume with a gigabit from Verizon.

The resolution and FPS is correct for what I'm using it for. I fooled around with it and decided that this is the sweet spot.

Excellent guide you wrote up for me. I really appreciate it!

I grabbed this from their webpage.

I don't know if maybe thats windows only or what but there should be a preset option somewhere.

That's Windows only. The screenshots I attached to my last post show the only options available for Mac :(. I'll change it to x264 and see what happens for now.

I downloaded it to check. Not that I didn't believe you but I knew it had to be there, presets are nearly a requirement for encoding. At least making it user friendly enough to be useful on the fly.

Make sure you are on the latest version. Switch Output mode to simple. Select Enable Advanced Encode Settings. Then you will get preset options under simple and advanced.

Oh my goodness! I completely missed those little boxes.

I found what you were describing. Thank you for trying it yourself!

I'll give this a try later and see how the CPU behaves.

Screenshot 2018-08-24 19.49.58.png Ok, first test tonight. I have it on ultrafast. My activity monitor is showing 144% CPU usage with the 1st instance of OBS. The 2nd simultaneous instance is at 141% CPU power. I'm going to change the settings on OBS to see if anything changes. It looks like my CPU has gotten worse using these settings.

[EDIT]

After playing with it for about 15 minutes, it seems that changing the Encoder back to "Apple VT H264 Hardware Encoder" yields the best results. The activity monitor is showing CPU % under 50% on both instances of OBS. It looks like I can't optimize the Mac any better.

I have a theory. If my Mac Mini could perform well enough most of the time on dual streams and just fine on one stream, then it can't possibly be the result of having an Intel Integrated Graphics 4000 chip. The reason I think this is I recently purchased a new laptop with an i7 8850H CPU and a GTX 1070. The pictures I'm uploading are the stats during the useage of my laptop while on stream.

Like a few people have mentioned in this thread before, I'm wondering if the GPU really doesn't matter with what I want to do.Resources Pic 3.PNG Resources Pic 2.PNG
