What an ill-considered question. Even the "leaked" GM from 10 days ago was downloaded from Apple servers and signed by Apple for a while, and then on Tuesday made available to anyone who wants to be in a public beta.

I hope English is not your first language and you simply don't understand what "immoral" means.

Who's the victim? And what's the crime?

Apple would close the signing window if they didn't like it

Morality has nothing to do with it, it's a matter of preference/comfort level

The 8 "isn't much better than the year before"???

Yea. Wireless charging. Such a nothing feature. LMAO... This feature ALONE is enough to warrant some to upgrade.

Wireless charging....that brand new technology people have been using for the past 3-4 years already.

Nope, still not sold on it.

All of the new devices should have had the same style of screen as the X and lose the home button. £999 for a phone.... LOL They are taking the piss.

Just want to know, if I’m in the beta and updated to the GM, do I still send anonymous information to Apple? And if yes, how can I stop this? Just delete profile?

The public beta exists as an option for regular users to test the software without pretending to be a developer or “illegally” use it.

Apple created the public beta so it’s them telling you it’s ok. If a third party did it, well they would be sued and out of business. :D

And believe me, if Apple didn’t want you to have the software, they would see to it that you don’t. Like putting Apple Connect permissions on the signing server in the case of the leaked GM.

If you are talking about the beta program then no. If you are referring to pirated software then yes.

As I have voiced my opinion on another thread, here goes: it is not immoral to install it and keep it to yourself.

What I find immoral is tweeting to the world about it and spoiling someone's party. That's all I find wrong and immoral.

I asked the question because I wanted to hear from those who think it is as ive seen a number of references to it.
Not because I thought I'd get caught, or because I think it is.

Stupid question? Stupid answers you might say, but clearly there are people who think it is, and I don't think they're stupid for having their opinion.

I also don't think the use of the word immoral is crazy either. It could've been any of a few words. Immoral is a strong positioning word, which is effective for getting people to address the question, which is what I was after.

My opinion is if Apple are signing it, it's fair game

A) I didn't say it was brand new to the planet. Just the iPhone.

B) I am pretty sure the iPhone 8 does not cost a thousand dollars.

Not everyone runs off the US dollar... so yes it can and does. & the iPhone X here is over $1400 off contract... & the iPhone 8 is over $1000.. cause we got no competition.

And thats with a "good" Canadian dollar to US, compared to the last 2 years.. we are finally matching & exceeding the parity value, finally.
