Is it just me or do black Macbooks not stand out from the crowd? I wouldn't mind having a blackbook to match my setup but wouldn't pay extra for the paint job granted it is only $50 extra.

I was in the computer lab today and as I was leaving, I immediately noticed a MBP and white Macbook but only noticed that someone had a blackbook after taking the time to see what other notebook brands were being used. I seriously mistook that guy's blackbook for an HP. It just looks like another Thinkpad/HP notebook..

Also while in lecture hall/class, white Macs def. standout. Maybe its cause I have one and if I had a blackbook it'd be different .... nah :p
You seem really desperate to stand out from the crowd... if this is so important to you why not just paint the MacBook flourescent pink and get it over with. I buy nice looking gear because I enjoy looking at it and I don't give a rat's ass if anyone else is impressed or not. You should try it. I mean Apple hardware comes in white, black and sometimes metal. Whichever you pick, so will millions of others.

You buy it for me, I'll use it.

Here's something to consider: The Blackbook is instantly recognizable as
a current, expensive Mac laptop. A white Macbook is easily mistaken for
the ubiquitous iBook - there are still millions of 'em out there. Check this out:

The moral of the story? If you choose black, watch your back!

stabbing someone inside a cafe for a laptop is rare indeed, however unfortunate.

how do those leashes work? where would you tether the laptop, i dont see a place that's secure enough to prevent a yank.
