lol are you sure? On eBay there are tons of cMac Pro cheaper than $1000 and I just need to upgrade RAM, GPU, and or CPU. That's why I estimate the max price is around $1500.
[doublepost=1472231448][/doublepost]Guys, base on what I researched I can get what I want within $1000~1500 and all of them are cMac Pro genuine parts. I don't see any issues of using genuine parts at all and it was meant to upgrade like that.

That's exactly what I tried to point out. You better "buy" a used cMP, but not "build" a new one to avoid that 5 years limitation.

Anyway, "buy and upgrade" is NOT "build".

It is. Do you even aware that Im going to upgrade cMac Pro base on cMac Pro? Im not going to buy all parts which is stupid idea. Im just gonna add and upgrade some parts like CPU, RAM, GPU, etc.

My Mac Pro is from 2006 and still purring. The only thing that I have an issue with is the video card. But I remote login to it anyway, so that's not an option. Those 2 physical xeon cpu's are a joy :)

So does two Xeon CPU means doubling GHz like 5.32ghz or?

Im trying to build Mac pro base on 2012 version but all parts like CPU, Motherboard, RAM, HDD, and etc have short life cycle around 5 years I believe. I do need desktop computer performance but can't spend more than $1500. So I wonder if it's worthy to buy and build classic Mac Pro or not.

IMO you could put together an old Pro cheaply but you will still have and old computer and "old" in the computer world means relatively slow by today's standards. If you are not concerned with the latest and greatest you could surely give it a shot. Your cost will depend on how cheaply you can acquire the parts but for all I know you could have great leads on them already! I have fun building fast windows computers and there is something to be said about doing that; satisfaction you cannot get when buying from a big box store. ;)

I need specific datas but you don't saying that.

i think there's some confusion, mavericks do you want to buy a macpro 4.1/5.1 then buy ram/cpu/gpu/drives
if so for cpu upgrade
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mac-pro-cpu-compatibility-list.1954766/
gpu nvidia upgrades
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...out-nvidia-pc-non-efi-graphics-cards.1440150/
or wait for the ATI RX 470/480 to work in osx then grab one of them

or did you want to buy spare parts of disabled mac pros ? mobo/cpu tray/fans/empty case etc (which is a bad idea as they are not new parts just parts taken from broken old macpros)

but if you do have a bigger budget why not get an imac?
get one with a GPU & 5K display there nice

5 years span... so my 5.1 I use is a living dead zombie :.)

and my 1.1, damn...

seriously, if you are worried about the parts what are critical: the PSU, the GPU, the Prozessors (especially the thermal paste), Fans...

those are parts you can swap for decent $ - no need to build a Frankenstein 5.1 - get yourself a used 5.1 in good condition and go for it

Doesn't matter how old Xeons get... their owners still have grounds to lord it over Core-i owners by virtue of having error-correcting memory :D
