I do. That’s why I’m asking. So again...where?

The only places you will find a first GEN Apple Watch for the price point of $50-$75, is craigslist or eBay. That’s it. Most likely eBay, because that’s a wider demographic selling versus what Craiglist is more local.

Yeah, I agree with you 100%. There may be an infrequent watch that goes for $50 but the average price for the aluminum watch is closer to $80-$100.

I would not buy the first generation Apple Watch at this point. If you want the cheapest possible, I would at least get a series 2.

I'd agree with this, and probably say it's not even worth bothering with anything less than a Series 3 if you want to really enjoy using it for all the things people are saying they like theirs for.

BUT ... it's ALWAYS about the money too. If you're asking about the older watches because you don't have $100 or more to spend on one right now (or can't justify it)? Then yeah, see if you can negotiate with someone out there with a Series 0 or 1 to take it off their hands for $40 or so, and I think you'll be getting a great deal.

I had a Series 0 42mm Sport watch my wife bought me as an anniversary gift, the night it was released. I hung onto it as long as I could, since it had some meaning as a gift and all. It really did work just fine as a cool digital watch with customizable faces that was good at popping up your iOS notifications and calendar reminders on it. (And Series 0 was the only series where Apple included a really nice plastic case with a lid to store the watch and band in.) If that's going to be all you really need to do with it (plus maybe use it as an MP3 player to some Bluetooth headphones for a few favorite songs you synced to it?) -- it's just not a bad little device for your $40 to this day.

Is it smart to buy a 1st generation apple watch now?
How much in USD would you spend on one thats used right now?
I have the first generation (first version that came out). It was starting to get a bit sluggish and the battery life was becoming unreliable. What I mean is that some days I can get a full day of battery life but other days, it would be 10% by 2pm (my time).

Second, you won't get any new updates. Been a while since I got an update and some apps won't run without the newer version I think.

Third, some apps were becoming sluggish to run. Not bad but can be a bit frustrating at times.

I just traded in my old computer at Best Buy and got enough back to get a series 4 Apple Watch today. it was time to replace it.

My opinion, don't bother and get a series 3 or 4.

If you want to experiment and find out if you like a smart watch then buy a Series 1 or Series 0. UK eBay has them for £50 (about $60 or so?). However it will be slow and laggy. But it will give you an idea if you like it or not.

If you like it then upgrade to a S3 or S4.
