Leather is leather. As long as the quality of the leather is good quality, then there is no problem with the band.

So, you don't care that it is not from cow...but rather from cats or dogs?

You're right...leather from any animal is still leather...but that is why there is a price gap. And yeah, i prefer to know where my leather comes from.

Most leathers are from cows. Even fake designer brands from China are from cows. I never heard of dog or cow leather.

And you know that they are from cow how? Unless it says it specifically, i doubt it. Google it. Read up on leather and what separates the cheap ones from the more expensive. Eye opener!! I was shocked!

You really think cow leather is the best leather? The most expensive leather is from an alligator.

http://www.unitedglove.com/leathersources.htm

As it says on the website, most common leather are from cows.

For that price...I honestly don't care! Lol

That's up to you. I am not saying that it is bad to buy it...some of those cheap bands are really nice. I prefer not...i have bought some in the past, but i don't anymore after reading up on it.

Just because you don't understand the craftsmanship that goes into an item doesn't mean it's crazy to charge a price for it.
Yeah I don't care what you say...a Milanese loop band isn't worth $150 and the link band most certainly isn't worth $500. Craftsmanship my ass, it's the usual Apple tax. As for the leather bands, you may have a point, but as long as I get the look and comfort that I want I really don't care. For 1/10 the price it's more than worth it.

1/10th the price, you get one with weak magnets, poor fit, and poor warranty. Sure, that is the "Apple tax" but that tax buys you more than what you get with 3rd party. I have had both sides. If i feel good about an Apple product, then i don't mind paying for the authentic item for both piece of mind and service (post-sale). You budget may vary.

Nope. Very strong magnets, never had an issue. I buy them on Amazon prime with a longer return policy than Apple. Warranty? At 1/10 the price I'm willing to take the risk. They're all aging well, haven't had to replace any. I won't be buying any bands from Apple.

Wow...what brands are you buying? I wanna read up on them. Folks here complain a lot about 3rd party. Give me some names...and have PRIME too. I can read their reviews too.

Why pay Apple prices when you can get high quality bands for less? All of these bands are 3rd party high quality bands, and I have no issues with them at all.

Would you mind telling me where you got the black leather strap with white stitching and the one with the black stitching as well as the burnt titanium milanese strap? Greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The black leather with black stitching is a fake Hermes band...plenty here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=apple+watch+hermes+black+leather+single+tour&rh=i:aps,k:apple+watch+hermes+black+leather+single+tour

I got one...not real leather...or some weak sauce leather from some animal not named cow.

Moko sports band is silicone, right? That's why it is cheaper. Personally, I will NEVER buy silicone bands...feels "sticky" and attracts lint, dirt, etc. like crazy.

Plus, most of the silicone (or even non-sillcone) bands I've seen (including VTEYES etc.) are RTV, so one can smell the (likely) VOCs still evaporating. I suspect Apple's sport bands are heat vulcanized so there's no weird chemicals used besides what's in the elastomer. And another difference I've noticed is that the aftermarket bands are all weak at the passthrough loop. Not really keen on having a broken band lose my watch.

I pity the person who can't discern quality to that level of detail. But hey, that's just me.

Basically that's what it comes down to (well not the "pity" part). But so many people say they get the same quality for less. and while most won't even give information where they're getting these "same quality" items, the ones that do, I've tried them. And haven't found the same quality. Am I more discerning? I don't know. But by the time I've spent enough money to try out a bunch of cheaper bands, I could have paid for Apple ones.

If one is looking for a different style, then of course you have to take what you can get, but then those end links that don't fit very well tend to bother me.

Exactly, i have tried several 3rd parties. All disappointing. I rather save up my pennies and get the real deal...piece of mind is worth something, right? In addition, after sale service is excellent with Apple.

I'm unsurprised you don't care. And I certainly hope you are never involved in the creation of any sort of product with that extremely small mind.

Lol, how cute, someone is personally offended and resorts to name calling when disagreed with. Get your bib ready, our next activity is finger painting! :D

Glad that not everyone is as small minded as YOU, the accessory forum would be boring if everyone only bought Apple bands. Most bands posted here are third party and look great. The fact that some people are bothered by it is kind of hilarious.

I don't care what anyone buys. I care when people say that things are well-made are without value. And I didn't resort to name calling. Saying you're an ignoramous baboon would be name calling.

Guess it's been at least 2 weeks if not longer and my favorite bands are the ones from Pad and Quill, even more than the OEM bands I own. I did also buy a 3rd party link band that I wear with suits and find the quality very good and matches well with the watch.

The question is how do you know the leathers from China are not cow leather?

Well, price is probably a good indicator. Notice how most cheap (under $40) bands says "genuine" leather but does not indicate which animal it came from.

Look, it is your money. But let's not pretend that a $25 dollar or less leather band is equivalent (or even better to some!) to a $150 band. That would be naive IMHO.

$150 is way too much for a leather band, and it is not a designer brand either. Just because the leather is cheap does not mean it's not from a cow.
