Avoid LockDown on iPad. It crashed my springboard, and no amount of resprings/reboots/hard resets cured it.... There is a free app that does this as well for jail broken devices, but I am not familiar with it: LockDown

YMMV.

To the first poster, I don't want multiple accounts in Mail. I'm fine with the iPad being "my" device.
I guess going to university or vocational college just isn't an option for you eh?
Don't feel bad, there are millions of people who have trouble understanding context.
Just go to your settings and deactivate your email accounts when your kids want to use it and your problem is solved.

This is an obvious deficiency in the iPad. Unlike my iPhone, I'd really like to have the ability to lend this thing out to others at work/home/etc without them requiring access to my email account.
Can you explain what you mean by "deactivate". I only see two options similar to this and neither of them solves the problem:
1) In my Exchange account I can go into settings and turn the slider for mail to "off". However anyone can just as easily turn it back on without requiring a password, so there's no security whatsoever.
If you're giving someone free reign of your personal device, security is obviously not your number one concern.
Anyway, yeah, IMO the solution isn't multiple user accounts (that seems ridiculous on the iPad); they should expand the parental controls.
Uh, no, email security is *precisely* my concern when I give someone free reign over my iPad. In fact, that's what this whole thread is about.
