Is it uncool to obviously enjoy your iPod's music in public?

After my recent experiences in Washington, D.C. on the Metro, I am not surprised that someone would look at a person that way. People are total jerks.
 
It is totally impossible for me to listen to music without doing something. If its nodding my head, tapping my foot, or full out mouthing the entire song lyrics...I just cant help myself.
