Running Big Sur on a 2008 Unibody without issues. It actually feels better than Catalina did on this system, but like as some said, I avoid applications that require Metal overall.

Looking into the upgrade for my other SSD in this system. Want to keep on a patched version of MacOS if I can.

Linux is fun, but keeping this system MacOS as long as possible.

If you have the MacBook5,1 that's the same one in my avatar. I have a bunch of MacBooks and that particular one is on Mavericks. I love the classic interface, although there is a Lucida Grande update available on github for the newer OSes.
