I returned the mini after 10 days and went back to my Iphone 11. The mini battery was horrible because I'm a heavy facetime user, and I also use sling tv. I could not go more than 8 hours before a recharge was necessary. 5G did nothing for me. Glad I saved the money, will wait for the next release.

I have an iPhone 11 128gb and I'm thinking about migrating to the new iPhone 12 128gb but I have some concerns.

How is the battery life? Is it better? Is it worse? I know that iPhone 12 has a smaller battery.
Is the oled panel difference visible comparing to LCD?

Thanks
Please save your money and stay with the 11 just not worth it.

Absolutely, 100% no. 😂

If you want to upgrade because your phone is a toy, and you want the latest toy, go ahead. As for “reasons” to do so, there really isn’t one.

For me, a phone is a tool used for entertainment, and for work. Your 11 is equally as capable as a 12 unless you’re doing incredibly niche work on your phone (running Monte Carlo particle simulations....?), you have a strong passion for iPhone photography and want access to ProRAW, or you want to change to a bigger or smaller phone (to a 12 Mini or Pro Max).

Personally, I have a 2 year old XR. I’ll replace it next year simply because I can afford it, and because I think I’m going to switch to a Mini. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother. My XR does everything I need, which is the regular casual browsing, to running the Office 365 suite and attending the occasional Teams/Zoom meeting. No games, and I almost never stream videos unless watching 2 minute NBA highlights. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I clean swapped my 11 pro for a 12 no outlay, similar size with bigger screen and much lighter, win win.

From 11 pro series to 12 pro series no.

From iPhone 11 to iPhone 12 ABSOLUTELY!!!! the oled screen and better screen resolution is enough to warrant a upgrade.

Having just gone from a lower res LCD to a higher res OLED, I disagree. The different screen tech does nothing to enhance my experience. And I love my mini, best phone I’ve ever had. Just don’t see the screen as a big deal.

Edit: to clarify, the screen is a big deal in general, but the difference between the (excellent) LCD panels Apple used to use and the OLED panels is not. Both look great.

IMO, no, it’s not worth it. I’m a big fan of them going to OLED for the 12 and flattening the design, but other than that, everything else isn’t worth the $$.
Both have 4GB RAM
Both have 2 cameras
Both have solid battery life (+11)
Both have similar sound profiles
11 offers legit split screen panels

5G
Night mode on both cameras
Bit faster processor
Square design
Smaller footprint
Wouldn’t be enough to entice me if I had to pay more than say $100-150 out of pocket to upgrade.

That was it for me too. Where I live, if I were to upgrade from my 11 to the 12 I wanted it would probably cost me over $300 out of pocket. The upgrades are nice but just not worth this to me. If I could upgrade for only $100 or so then I would totally do that, but it's not worth much more (for me).

No. I’m on iPhone 11 right now and I’m definitely waiting for iPhone 13 for my next upgrade.
