But there is such a thing as a bug-ridden OS, and most of the 13 versions have been that.

I am still with 12.4.1 XR. Is it worth to upgrade now? The thing that I am worried the most is the Carplay. I have Toyota. No issue with the Carplay on 12.4.1.

Not meaning to cop out on the answer, but I'd do a search in this forum for threads with 'CarPlay' and 'Toyota' and see what other owners have experienced.

A new dashboard with more functionality, and I think it's faster as well. Love it.
