I have MobileMe and it's fine for my needs.

Not interested in cloud computing. I like to keep my media on the device and not be tied to spotty Internet coverage or slow download times.

You'd like
email - Apple to push another email service? Unlikely.
Pictures - Cloud storage. Which is kind of what the mobilme galleries are nearly already.
Music/Video - Have a think what Apple wants to do with a $2 billion data centre that's coming online this year.
iDisk - Will likely link better. And this goes for the iPhone too.

MobileMe will see some changes.

Re: email - almost every widely available email service allows you to change the From address. So it's not so much wanting Apple to push another email service. It's wanting Apple to offer a particular feature that is otherwise widely available. Not unlikely at all IMO.

Re: the data center, yeah mentioned that in my blog post but forgot to here. Unfortunately at the moment it's all dressed up with nowhere to go. Until the labels and studios give Apple the okay it likely stays that way on the whole.
