It's a mid-range device. The Verge said it well in their video.

"Motorola have abandoned the Spec Wars, this phone is going after the iPhone, a simple to use, functional phone. The "everyman" phone

The problem is it runs android, can it sell with and the stock fullness of android and the apps compared to iOS, it's a good plan to ditch the spec wars but can it deliver? I'd it doesn't sell the blame will be soley on android.

Common sense tells you why the s3, s4 are what they are, Samsung tried to pretty up android a lot to appeal to the masses.

No. Aledged bad camera and no MicroSD slot. I might think about it over the Nexus 4 though.

It's gonna destroy the nexus 4 period. Not might destroy the Htc one as well.

It will because the only carrier you could get the N4 at was T-Mobile. As a phone id rather have the MotoX over the N4 but pricewise for me, it is way more than the $349 N4 is.
It will cost me a lot more because i can only get one from their website and im thinking it will be $600 and im not going to pay that for a phone with a bad camera so i most likely wont get one.

Unlikely.

The S4 is a monster, and the Moto-x doesn't have the muscle, feature set, or accessory market the S4 has.

Nope. It's still got the 2nd best name recognition out there (behind iPhone.) People aren't just going to give up the better S4 to get into the inferior MotoX. Doesn't make sense. Especially at their ridiculous asking price.

I'm not aware of specifics regarding hardware specs of the devices I have owned. All I know is the phone that was released in 2009 (Nokia N97) feels slower than the phone I got in 2010 (HTC Desire Z) which feels slower than the tablet I got in 2011 (Asus Transformer) which feels slower than the phone I got in 2012 (Samsung Galaxy S3). If I pick up and start using Moto X phone, will it feel faster than my Galaxy S3 or feel as fast as other phones released this year?

Moto X is not powered by a quad processor so it is not supposed to be the "fastest" phone you can find out there. Hopefully it will have some good and satisfactory performance. I do not believe it took Motorola 1 year to release a phone after its acquisition from Google to make a remarkably slow phone....
