MP 7,1 Is Premiere still not using the GPU for R3d video?

Hm I need to check some different red files in a few days, I’m right in the middle of the next Projekt, this time on Sony Venice 6K... again, absolutely unplayable in premiere, resolve goes through it like butter....

Can you tell us the compression ratio of the clips? This seems to be very important to playback in PP. I had no issues with 8:1 in PP with RED 8K.

I don't about chfilm - but i did the download recommended by Blair.

The latest V17 was released in October and addressed several Metal acceleration/decode issues specifically for GPU. Using an old installer or version would not get those benefits.

Yes the latest version of apple red workflow is installed and redcine as well. I already had to send back that hard drive to the client and didn’t make any copies but I can play around a bit with footage from the web.
