Does having Chrome installed cause interference with other browsers? I ditched Chrome for Firefox yesterday, so that's no issue.

Update, though, in the process of trying to resolve my Logic issues I booted into safe mode and reset my NVRAM. Now Safari seems to be playing a 1080p 60fps video perfectly fine. We'll see if it lasts.

Streaming services still don't work though. Whatevs.

Can you play other forms of DRM media on your 5,1? For example, Apple TV+ shows (you can access them through the web portal on 10.14)? This would help narrow down the problem.

Does watching Prime, Netflix and Disney+ in Chrome and Firefox count? Those services all work fine in other browsers but won't play at all in Safari. I'd check Apple TV but there's something screwy with our family plan and I can't log in.

I'm happy to report that using a rEFInd-OpenCore chainload to enable GPU acceleration has made DRM streaming work in Safari.

Firefox is still loads faster for scrolling through YouTube's homepage though.
