so....can anyone verify whether this app is truly free or not? i found this comment in the app store:

YES. It's been verified many times over. It's free. I'm using it. Never paid for it.

Yup. Shazam is free, but so is Midomi (and it's MUCH better!) ;)

Pring,
Thank You for the link. It didn't show up on my app store on my itouch? Also I couldn't find it in the Apple store. The link did help.

Thank You again
YB

Note: The itouch is not compatible with the Shazam App. I guess the App icon on the itouch shows the apps just for the itouch.

They hide it from people who think the iPod touch is called the "iTouch".

"iPod touch", "iTouch"' "itouch", etc? What's everyone's problem here? Okay, the last two aren't he correct name, but we all know what it means, so just deal with it. :)
As soon as I see a post with the incorrect name, I just know that a few posts later, someone will have an issue with it. :p

Did you really just come here to say that, without genuinely benefiting the thread at all? :rolleyes:

So to sum everything we've figured out here, we should know that shazam is free to iphone users who use the app, and that it'll be free for a limited time, and that it completely rocks :D

I've tried Midomi and keep both on my iphone but I found that Shazam is more accurate. I keep Midomi for that times when I remember a song and hum it but don't remember what it's called. lol

free = free

I am fairly sure that "free for a limited time" means that for a limited time one can obtain the app at no charge. In other words: "get it for free while you can!" It's actually great marketing on their behalf because I imagine that many people will get it for free now, then praise it endlessly which will cause others to buy it when it's no longer free. I definitely give it two thumbs up, so if a buddy gets an iPhone 3 months from now I'll recommend this app even if it costs money (provided it's reasonably priced; maybe under $5)...
[doublepost=1564733875][/doublepost]I live in South Africa so there's no way I'll be able to afford it. Why does it not say in the free app store that you have to pay for it. I'm using a Samsung device will that make a difference to weather I'll have to pay or not
