Is that possible to using watchOS 1 with iOS 11 ?

If I want to keep watchOS 1 on my watch . Does it work on iOS 11 ? Would Apple force any user to update new OS on the watch like an iPhone? Thanks

No. You have to update it. You can not pair it with iOS11. It will be updated during setup.

I thought just watchOS4 require iOS11 nor vice versa
