Well, as far as I know, Apple has not made any changes to 4.8. If they did, then they'd probably have a 4.8.1 update, which I don't think exists.

It's very unlikely that a system update will mess anything up, as long as you don't have any 3rd party hacks installed.

Installing. Let's hope this goes well. If not, it's back to 10.4.7 I guess.

Let me know how it goes. Not to let you take the hit if it goes badly, but I'm very very new to all things Mac and wouldn't know what to do in a crisis:p

Worked.

Took quite a bit of time to install.

Any noticeable improvements? I'm downloading the update now, I'm guessing there won't be many noticeable changes but best to be up to date I guess.

stay away from 10.4.8 ... ever since I have installed it, my macbook suddenly shutsdown randomly  could be something else but I blame the update

Ah I don't know what to do now:confused:

Don't want to risk getting RSD's. Meh, 10.4.6 is working just fine for me, I'll leave it how it is. No 'major' fixes from what I can see is going from 10.4.6 to 10.4.8 from what i can see anyway.

RSD isnt 10.4.8's fault, i think its a design flaw, sooner or later, a substantial portion of macbook owner will get it.

to echo the person above me... the random shut-downs are due to a logic board defect. It is hardware, not software-based. The ONLY way to fix it is to have it repaired.

Again, random shutdowns on macbooks have NOTHING to do with the OS version you're running.

Not really.

WoW doesn't seem to have performed that much better. Though I am getting at least 10 outdoor and sometimes up about 80 indoors. (not kidding).
