I do agree with you, it’s a beautiful panel but I’d still take my 60 Hz XS Max display over the Pro’s. Good thing we can have both! Honestly, LCD is a better display technology than OLED on this type of a device.

Oled has better difinition such as color and tonal qualities, scenes look more natural with it.

The iPhone XS needs the oled display. It is a thin phone, and it requires such a display to be as thin as it is.

It’s actually one of the thicker models they released at 7.7 mm. The iPhone 6 is 6.9 mm with an LCD.

Samsung just announced a Tab S5e with the same AMOLED panel as the S4 so I may have keep my 10.5 Pro and get that for $399.

If you saw 2 house flies buzzing around but one of them was 12% larger I highly doubt you would notice this. I say fly because the thickness of these devices is a small area to notice 10%

That is not much difference. The IPhone XR is 8.3mm thick using a LCD screen. So the Amoled makes a difference for sure dropping the X,XS, or XS max to 7.7mm thick.

You may as well say the iPhone 6 is 7mm thick, and the iPhone X is still in the 7mm range. Considering how much more is packed in to it.
[doublepost=1550251694][/doublepost]My iPad Pro 11” is only 5.9mm thick?! That is seriously thin. Maybe I would notice the IPhone XS is thicker in this scenario.

Either way maybe to thin, is not always to good lol. Im sure the iPhone X is pretty durable at resisting bends.

In all honestly, many (if not all) of those that use iPads for just for “entertainment purposes” would be just as well served with a “regular” iPad. The problem is Apple I deliberately not making those as attractive.

After three years of using the original IPad Pro, I just bought the new 12.9”. What became immediately apparent is the niceness of the new screen with ProMotion and the reduced footprint relative to the original 12.9. This new iPad is about the size of a sheet of paper - much more manageable.

I used the regular iPad ‘18 model before i got my 11 pro , ill be honest the regular iPad is actually quite a good little machine. My wife uses it all day now and has not touched her computer at all....I bought it thinking it would be used in a iPad + MacBook Air / Mac mini scenario. But once i used the iPad more and more i found everything i needed on iOS.

Pro motion is wonderful , you can definitely notice and respect the difference if you use your tablet a lot.

I have the 11” iPad Pro 3rd gen. I love it very much. But I keep reading that the 12.9” version is like this mothership of all iPads, and nothing can compare lol.

Am I really missing anything?
It really depends.
For Young Adults or Children (Below 40 Years old) even iPad Mini can Provide FULL Experience especially for someone that does not have Presbyopia. It's font is like 55% bigger than iPhone Pro Max most of the time, as well as more text is added being closer to desktop view, and more fun to draw.

iPad 9.7"-11" where the regular size iPad sits. It is much more comfortable to see layouts and Context.

While iPad Pro 12.9" is either for Artist, and professional drawer who multitask a lot lot.

SO yeah, you're right about that. 11" iPad Pro is the most LOVELY, since it has the newest Aspect Ratio (still Book Friendly and even better for watching movies due to wider screen)

Having had both, I am glad the family chose an 11" for me when they gifted me the iPad Pro last week. It's more in line with what I am used to size-wise.

OP, I think size is up to individual preference and usage case.

My next one will be a 12.9 or larger if they sell it. Mine is an old Pro 9.7 inch. I use it like a television.

I am getting by with only 32GB internal space because I only use it to stream. I might go a bit higher next time so I can download movies.
