I thought that every time this comes up on here, people have said that in theory it is, but there were quite a few things standing in the way of actually being able to do it? Great news if it is upgradeable, but I just read that we shouldn't count on it.

as we shouldn't.... the card is replaceable yes, but as long as apple doesn't offer an upgrage card, it won't run in mac os, in xp yes, but not mac os because it will lack the driver support in mac os.... a guy over at insanely mac tried it.. put at 7900 inside an 24" imac... worked in xp, not in mac os...
so it is upgradeable but someone must come up with a driver for macos first....

Well, they're getting better - remember that only a year ago, the GPUs were very bad, monitor spanning was disabled and there were only single core chips!
