iPad Is the 9th gen iPad worth an upgrade at $269?

Thanks for the advice. It's a tough call. Do you see the 10th gen getting down to $269 on sale with $80 more off that for trading in a 7th?

To be honest, not before Black Friday at the earliest (and even then I see $299 more likely, but $269 is not impossible). I know some people don't like selling, but honestly you could get quite a bit more than the $80 trade-in if you sell the 7th gen yourself (but again I can understand some people prefer to get less rather than going through the hassle of selling).

They did not support Pencil 2 because of the landscape camera which is where the Pencil's magnet charger would be. I think the Pencil 3 will have two smaller magnets on either side of the camera.

True, but couldn’t they find a way to support using it even if you can’t stick it onto the side? Why is it all-or-nothing?

If Apple wanted, they could make the pencil 2 work even on lightning devices, but they decided not to, since you can't charge it magnetically. Some third party sellers sell external chargers that can charge pencils separately, but again that's not Apple.

True. If I were to buy a 10th gen iPad I would just get a third party pencil, if I even needed one.

I’m not sure where they could have put it without blocking something; if they put it to one side of the camera the pencil would stick out past the side of the iPad and I don’t see Apple ever doing that. The only solution I can think of would be to use a cable with the magnet/charger on one end, but then its not really different from the Pencil 1.
