Hey, did Apple already announce prices for the new iPhones? Totally missed that. Can someone please post a link, where I can see all the prices?

Apple hasn't released prices, leakers apparently got their hands on this year pricing.

Only thing apple officially announced was that this year iPhone 12s release will be delayed by a few weeks.

Could explain what were the obvious improvements the A13 brought over the A12?

Honestly, I'm just looking for battery life and longevity because I upgrade once every 4-5 years. Need to know if processor improvements actually bring a lot to the table or if it's just a marketing gimmick by Apple that an average user doesn't fully benefit from

Speed aside, the A13 has that UWB location sensor or something.

In addition, my friend informed me the other day that his iphone 11 is somehow learning to recognise him even with his mask on, though I am seeing no such feature on my iPad Pro. It could be one more advantage of the A13 over the A12 or even A12X.

Though I do agree that depending on what you do on your phone, you may not necessarily feel the speed improvement yet. Right now, I keep my 8+ on low power mode all day and I don’t really notice the slower processor. Apps probably open and load a hair slower than normal, but I just don’t feel it.

I wouldn’t say that. Depending on who you read (rumor wise) price is still quoted from $650 - $750. It would be great if Apple discounted the new phone by $50. I don’t see that happening, even with a tough pandemic economy.
The OP totally made a price hike sound like a fact. That was kinda confusing for me. 🤷‍♂️

Average iPhone user upgrades every 3 years these days. So 2020 iPhone 12 are targeted for those with iPhone 8/iPhone X 2017 models or older i have owned every iPhone since 2007 except iPhone 7 cycle which I skipped.

In my opinion since iPhone 6S. There have been really no true day to day performance differences for 80 percent of the public Since 2015 iPhones. Sure iPhone 11 Pro Max which I owned for 5 plus months had fantastic battery life and awesome camera. But real time day to day basic phone operations like Facebook twitter mobile safari and texting. A 5 year old iPhone is fine.

5g is reason why I would upgrade. Yeah. I will be one of those suckers paying full price $1200-1500 for iPhone 12 pro Max 256 or more model. But I’m a phone junkie. I tried to give my mother in law a brand new iPhone se 2020 but she wouldn’t take it. She still likes her 2013 iPhone 5S. There are tons of people out there like my mother in law.

In January I bought the XS. Saved over $800 (Australian) over the 11 Pro. I might consider the 12 in 2 years time.

I’m going to upgrade, but I only have an XR. I actually prefer LCD over OLED displays, which is why I grabbed the XR initially.

I do however not like the camera on the XR. The 11 pro I ignored, but if the 12 does indeed have a new 64MP imager and perhaps a 3x telephoto lens, I’ll buy one for that.

With the current iPhone 12 leaks of the smaller batteries and no 120Hz. I’m finding it harder to justify upgrading to the iphone 12 instead of just the iphone 11. Would the A14 actually be worth the price hike?

It seems to me Apple will offset the smaller battery with higher efficiency of the A14 chip to the point where the iphone 12 has just about the same battery life as the iphone 11.

In the case of someone who doesn’t care about OLED or the new design, would the average user even see any benefit of having the A14?

The Average user would get by fine on the A10, nevermind anything beyond that...

Also price hike this year is likely going to be due to 5G, not the new chip per se.

No average user should be updating regularly for processing power as they don’t use any of that, and what they do use, old apple chips are still more than capable

(I don’t think people realize how powerful these mobile processors are now a days)

Outside of scrolling at a very fast and abnormal speed, I doubt the refresh rate will really be noticeable on such a small device. I think it will be more tech specs than anything.

Pretty much.

Gives the vocal complaining minority, hardcore anti-Apple fans and youtube tech reviewers something to focus on though haha

Did I hear him correctly, that the phones will have Touch ID as well? If I did hear correctly, I don‘t believe that given the price of the 5.4.” I also haven’t heard any other leaker or analyst state the new phone will have both biometrics.

Might be only the pros are getting the touchID.

Would make sense as the pros have to have USP over the cheaper phones?

Don’t think he is a leaker though think he just mentions rumours he hears like we do.
