My mini 2 runs great for my use, which is primarily Safari, videos, music, books, comics, a few games, and light writing. I used to try and use an iPad as a do it all device for content creation and consumption, but I found it too frustrating. Now I use my iPad for mostly consumption only and my Macs for other stuff. I've been very happy with my mini 2 over the last few years and hope to get a few more years use out of it.

My Mini 2 is running great under 9.3. All the new features such as the split screen and the nighttime color correction work well and are very useful additions.

No complaints.

My iPad mini 2 was definitely slower than when I first got it on iOS 7, though arguably more stable and less buggy overall.

Features like slideover lag like crazy when trying to initiate them. PDFs in Notability sometimes just turn up a blank screen when loading. Everything just seems to take that bit longer to run than it should. It feels like the delay is due to apps being pushed out of ram ever so often. The best juxtaposition is to simply handle the new 9.7" iPad Pro for any period of time. The difference is like night and day.

My mini is only good for movies, anything else and it spins it's wheels while it thinks. I don't understand because before I upgraded to ios9 it was somewhat laggy but nothing like it is now.

My iPad Mini 2 is on iOS9 and runs very well, no noticeable slow downs or lag. The A7 is a fast CPU, and it's 64 bit. Resist the urge to needlessly spend much more for something newer.
