they wear better than a mbp, i know mbp are nicer on looks but i think by far the macbooks are more durable, ive owned about 3 yes they scratch but its just cause the gloss finish, and if you dont want it to scratch by a TECHSHELL case they are great i just got a clear one for my blackbook

"pitting" issues on MBP?

Reading some of the posts here has gotten me a bit worried about getting a new MBP for college, instead of a MB.

But do the MBPs still have the TERRIBLE "pitting" issue? Where these small black dots start showing up in the palm area, and grow bigger and bigger until it looks absolutely disgusting? Unfortunately, my PB is showing such symptoms, and if MBPs are having this problem, I will seriously consider/buy a MB instead.

The components are durable, but the casing can get pretty ugly after heavy use. Just make sure you get a decent skin and don't go throwing it down the stairs.

My macbook just dropped from about 4ft (top of table) onto hardwood floor. It landed flat on the bottom (which case open). The machine was running.

It seems perfectly fine, without a single dent. I guess I got lucky in that the force was spread evenly across the entire bottom of the case, rather than a particular spot.

It's a tough little machine!
