I use applocker too.

The problem with the passlock for me is that I opt to have I.C.E - In-Case-Of-Emergency contacts in my phone contacts.

Obviously if i had the passcode lock on then they would not be accessible.

What is confusing about this? You can only toggle it on/off when it's unlocked. You toggle it on when you go in public in case you set it down. Makes perfect sense, and is a great idea

Stupid idea and they've already made CleverPin which does the job to a better and securer standard.

I agree with the OP that it's a good idea. Connecting to a wifi network is not always the criteria you want for changing privacy.

My thought is it would matter WHO you are around whether you want the passcode lock on/off. Suspicious friends / strangers, children, etc.

So to quickly toggle it on if you want to run to the bathroom or something and then toggle it off after.

Regardless of what some people think is a stupid idea, reducing the number of clicks / taps to do anything is improvement in the user experience.

Can cleverpin be configured to automatically turn passcode lock ON when you're connected to a specific wifi network? For example, if you don't want your kids picking up your phone at homd and playing with it, can you set it to turn the passcode lock on when you connect to your network at home?

Cleverpin deactivates the passcode whenever you're connected to a certain Wifi Network you previously marked as safe. So, if you want your passcode to be ON when at home, just don't put your wireless network in the "white list".

If you want your iPhone to be passcodeless unless when at home… then I don't think Cleverpin is the tweak for you.

How is it a stupid idea? I think you are just stupid. CleverPin does NOT do it to a better and more secure standard for the reasons that have already been cited. CleverPin is extremely limited, and gives you virtually zero control of when pass code lock is turned on or off, leaving it up to something as arbitrary and irrelevant as what wifi network you are/aren't near?

The ONLY benefit of CleverPin is that it turns pass code lock on and off automatically without requiring any menu navigation, but this is useless since you have no direct control of when or where this happens outside of simply whether or not you are near a particular wifi network.

What about when you're not near a "safe" network but don't want to have to type in a password EVERY SINGLE TIME you look at your phone (99% of the time for most people) but then suddenly need or want to set your phone down momentarily?

I can understand why narrow minded people like you and your tunnel vision automatically shoot down brilliant ideas like mine in favor of similarly narrow minded ideas simply because they appear on the surface to require less work/thinking. In the long run, however they are actually far less functional and consequently require MORE work and inconvenience.

Remember, genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.

Cleverpin leaves my password disabled for the first use after I leave any wifi network that I logged onto unless I use get or make a call. I drive half a mile from work and then use my iPhone 5 without entering the password. After this first use (or if I get or make a call) then my iPhone asks for a password.

Cleverpin forgets my password when I get a phone call on my wifi network. I understand the forgetting my password after I get a call because the wifi is toggled.

Don't waste your money on this.
