If you are using Image Capture, are you able to turn on its “delete after import” function?

See this article

That feature no longer works. Not sure if that is because of Big Sur or the application itself.

When I used Image Capture on an earlier version of macOS - I forget which one - that feature did work, and life was great! Because if that feature works, then you in essence are doing a "move".

Another thing I have noticed about the Image Capture app is that it often drops files.

Yesterday I donwloaded files from my iPhone onto my MBP, and I noticed that photos I had taken that morning weren't in the final downloaded file set.

So I created a another folder, ran Image Capture a second time, and then all of my files appear to have been downloaded. (In retrospect, I wonder how many "once in a lifetime" photos/videos I thought were successfully downloaded off my iPhone that disappeared forever because of the unreliability of this application?)

Apparently the under 40 crowd snaps photos/videos and instantly uploads them to "the Cloud" or onto Tik-Tok...

Again, it boggles my mind that there is a way to take photos/shoot video on your iPhone, but there is no practical way to transfer those files to your Mac computer or an external hard-drive.

Almost makes me want to pitch my iPhoen and buy a DSLR/mirrorless camera...
