I'm going to stay away from that one. That reminds me too much of Plex, requiring users to sign up for an account and run my media activity through Plex servers even though I'm only going to use the program on a single local machine. Or the router companies like Linksys that require people to use a remote administration tool even though the router is standing 5 feet away.
Your photo activity is NOT run through their servers. You are assuming things without even looking into it. Just because Plex did that to you, doesn’t mean another company is.

Very true. I'd rather not take the chance.

I have the solution I needed:

This does precisely what I wanted. It took me longer to download the program than it did to process the files. The only other step I used was batch convert of the WebP files to JPEG, which I did with Preview.

Aside from the tiny thumbnail size in the image viewer, NameChanger is phenomenal.

And is the AI search brilliant because Google have already interrogated all your photos for personal data…?
At first, yeah but I don’t fill up my cloud storage with DPs. Especially for real estate (commercial or residential) this would be great for the user. Search Field — “House with red door” and it would be able to find it fairly quickly.

to be fair, it doesn’t really seem like the OP wanted a photo management program. there were many viable options suggested, nearly all of which he rudely dismissed.

what he actually wanted was a photo renaming app. this is a completely different request.

No, let me remind you what I said:

"I don't need (or want) cloud services, don't want a subscription membership even if its 'free'."

So, if you really wanted to be fair, you should say, "OP asked for a program that didn't require cloud services or subscriptions/membership, but despite that people gave him workable solutions that required those things."

My requirements were perfectly laid out in the first post, its not my fault if well-meaning people don't read.

This reminds me of the surprise tests back in grade school. The instructions at the top of the page said "Please read to the bottom of the test before answering any questions." At the bottom of the page it said, "Please do not answer any questions, simply put your name and date at the top of the paper and turn the test in to your teacher." Many of the kids, if not all, would tear through the test to show off and turn it in with a big smile on their face, then fail the test.
