I thought I had heard that there was only one potential T-Mobile band missing from iPhone X.

Which bands are you missing for those carriers and where? Thanks.

Here is a local speed I can hit with TMO. LTE users will be fine for many years, even without The new band (600 MHz Band 71) could actually help current TMO users if it can offload some of that non-new band traffic.

Thanks for the reply. Wow! That is fast. I don't think I've ever seen a higher speed posted here.

You also mentioned that your "...X doesn't support all the LTE bands that ATT uses (I'm back on ATT)."

Is that true? I never heard that before.

That wasn’t me but yes.. most phones launched in the last several years lack support for 600 Band 71. IMO, it’s not a huge deal if the service is working and available today where you are.

Whoops! Sorry about that. I believe you're right about it not being a big deal.

Does AT&T also use Band 71 (OP quoted below, in case he has an answer.)?
The 3G got me into the iPhone market, but it was too underpowered to be usable for very long. Every iPhone since has been handed down and got at least 4 years worth of usage. The improvements in the 3GS would probably have held up better. At least Apple sold it longer.

The X has been the best so far. Of course, I don't know long term reliability (the 6 had to have battery replaced within 2 years, a hand me down 5, bought new, had battery expand last summer).

Most of the other issues with cell phones have to do with carrier and band support. Already, my X doesn't support all the LTE bands that ATT uses (I'm back on ATT), or T-Mobile (my sister uses). The phones aren't future proof in carrier support . It is hard enough to support everything that is out there by the time the phone releases.

I wish I'd kept all my Sony Ericsson P-series phones - specifically the P800i, P900i, P910i, and P990i. I still have a P1i somewhere. Sony Ericsson was a great company with an amazing design ethos - anyone remember the T68i? Unbeknownst to many, that was one of the first commercially available phones with a color screen (technically it was the Ericsson T68 which was succeeded by the Sony Ericsson T68i). I'm sad Sony Ericsson was dissolved.

Why?....I had most of those phones back in the day and they pretty much sucked.

The 8, sometimes the X feels too heavy and difficult to use one-handed. But the extra features were enough for me to make up for that.

I wish it was made out of aluminum to make it lighter, I don’t care for wireless charging since the iPad charger is much faster at charging it.

Looking back at 2014, I wish I bought an iPhone 6 (in black) instead of an iPhone 6 Plus (in white). I had the Plus for 3 years and the size got old after the first year. I don’t buy phones often, so when I make a choice I have to stick with it up to 3 years. I’m on iPhone X now and it feels more or less the right size for me.

Band 71 for T-Mobile (which is apparently now deployed in a few sites within 30 miles), and Band 14 for ATT.

...and perhaps one you wish you'd never bought?

I wish (in a way) that I had kept the SE - I still see loads of them and issue-free amongst people I know and a wider audience. I don't know why I sold mine, except perhaps because I had bought an iPhone 7 (also gone) which turned into my iPhone 8 as a second device.

I regretted at the time buying a 5C even though I got a good price for it, it was an unremarkable device.

And, lastly, are you happy with your current phones? Would you change anything about them?

I loved my Motorola StarTac... it was the coolest cell phone ever

My white 3GS, which was my first iPhone. Sentimental value and so forth.

I’m keeping my SE, because I know I’d regret parting with it. I feel like it was a very interesting model, and way better than it needed to be.

I've kept all of my iPhones and use them as iPods in different parts of the house. The 4s came in handy when I went for a swim and forgot the 5s was in my pocket.

The 8 is certainly lighter and more compact than the X - I notice a real difference especially outside.

The iPhone(4.7) 8 Weighs 148 Grams and the 8 Plus Weighs 202 Grams where the iPhone X weighs 174 Grams. The X is signifcanty lighter under the 8 Plus, but I think the iPhone X may feel heavier because of the stainless bands.

I wish I kept the original iPhone, just because it was the smartphone that changed everything and it was just gorgeously designed.

However, all my iPhones that I had and then sold were in mint condition and I kind of regret selling all of those!

No regrets on any iPhone I have bought. I have had all the iPhones since 2007, and for me that means when they went to have a normal and plus, I have had one of the phones in that series, except going for the iPhone X vs. iPhone 8/8+.

My daily driver is my iPhone X, however, I still have my iPhone 6s, and iPhone 7 Plus.

I use my iPhone 6s as an iPod basically, and my iPhone 7 Plus is my backup if something were to happen to my iPhone X.

Edit: What was everyones first cell phone? Mine was a Motorola i1000 on Nextel. Loved Nextel Direct Connect! Here are some oldies... from left to right, Motorola Nextel i860, Motorola Nextel i870, Motorola Q9C (Sprint), and HTC Mogul PPC6800 (Sprint). Loved the button you pushed on the i860 & i870 that flipped open the phone.

My favourite early phone was a Nokia 6630 which was one of the first to feature a 1mp camera and I think the first that would play mp3 aac files. I loved that device and used it for a solid 2 years.

I wish I kept my 4S but I traded it in to get a 6. It was my first iPhone and lasted me about three years. In the end I missed having it and bought one in mint condition with only 16 cycles on the original battery. It seems like it was used as a test phone or something. Whenever nostalgia hits I take it out and use it for a day or two.

Nokia N8, the design was absolutely amazing at the time, and the camera was pretty well peerless... Never had a single issue with it and either and it was the only phone in over 3 years that could tempt me away from the venerable N95 (the longest service of any of my daily drivers to date). Went to a Lumia 820 from there and while it was nice to finally be on a truly smart platform, that was just disappointment after disappointment. I passed the N8 down to a family member and as far as I am aware it got used to death... I haven't really had any emotional attachment to any iPhones I owned, but then I did only finally give in with the 6 series after Microsoft basically EOL the windows platform under our feet.

A runner up would be the N80 - probably the first widely available high pixel density phone - believe you me, 260ppi was absolutely incredible in 2006!

Nope, not for me. Each iPhone since the original has been better than the last. It really has culminated with the X, which in my eyes has been the most positive change since the original.

Agreed... this was the next best phone to an Apple designed phone... Correct size, correct functionality, and resistant to drops/bulletproof (with some exceptions for some of my staff members who didn’t understand that hinges fail if you push them open past their stress/failure point)...

For me it was my iPhone 4. Loved the look and feel of it. Just stunk because iOS 7 killed it for me :(

I always wish I could keep the iPhone I have at the time, but Apple always sucks me into buying a new one.
Why does Apple sucking you into buying a new iPhone equal losing the phone you have at the time? Do you trade it in then or sell it? Give it away or hand down?

I ask, because we (my wife and I) do not sell our old phones. Right now I'm on the third replacement of my iPhone 5 and the second replacment of my wife's iPhone 5. I have a 4s as well and my main phone is a 6s+.

When my 6s+ eventually gets replaced then it will just move down.

????

Apple never sold an iPhone 6 in black (unless you count the front as black). They had white, silver, gold and Space Gray.

:D

Later this year when the new iPhone launches will you then feel the same way about the X as you do now about previous versions? ;)
