Too heavy on the promotion man.

Seems to me, if Apple want to make it in markets like India, then they'll need to lower the price. That won't happen any time soon, though their 6.1" may beg to differ, & could be their Ace to crack said markets.

I agree ! Surprisingly Apple is doing well in China despite the adverse environment there !! Perhaps the disposable income of the middle class in China is much much higher than Indians !! Indian Middle Class barely survives !! so for them owning an iPhones is like having a Lincoln or any other American Luxury Car !

And that is why the Indian Government steps in when capitalist company like Apple wants to squeeze the hell out of the Indian Poor and Middle Class ! Apple in India has got some attitude going with the Government !! that is what they have been fighting with the Indian Government !! Apple wants a special status ! Reforms and subsidies in everything which ain't happening !

Apple's iPhones remain an aspirational product for thrifty Indians, most of whom purchase smartphones priced below $150, according to market and research firms Counterpoint and IDC. Elsewhere, Apple sells its high-priced iPhones to customers through partnership with telecom operators that subsidise the cost of the product, but phones in India are sold sans tie-up deals with carriers.

So iPhones have remained beyond the budget for most Indians. The least expensive iPhone X model, for instance, is priced at 92,430 rupees ($1,450) in India, while the least costly iPhone 8 unit ships at Rs 66,120 ($1,040). The devices are so much more expensive in India because the local government imposes a heavy charge on imported electronics items.

No offence meant but I smell of strong American capitalism in here !!

Enjoy as it rules here. Wish we would bring the entire Apple production back to America.

And yet the Apple Cult will follow them ! Come what May !! So everyone has a choice ! No issues on that !

You guys should see it in action and then decide how handy it could be ? Sad OPPO is not available in the U.S !!

You demonstrate how much we are different.

The average person in India has far bigger fish to fry day to day than trying to get their hands on an iPhone - like having shelter and clean water to drink.
