That side profile shot just made me realize how damn ugly the iMac can be. That irregular hump on the back needs to go and return to a more traditional, thicker uniform shape (plus it will be way better for thermals).

Apparently, it was not!
I am so, so disappointed with Apple for not trying hard enough! They are keeping a severely outdated design afloat. It basically came out in 2006 and has not been updated since 2012. And this is not all abut aesthetics, but also about footprint on the table.

It communicates a message of neglect towards the mac lineup. This would of course never had happened in the iPhone lineup.

They really, really should have refreshed the design, updated the ports, and included TrueTone.

What is going on?
iPhone 6, 6S, 7 and 8 beg to differ.

2012 redesign was a massive improvement. If anything, they need to push forward, not look back to a design from a previous decade.

its time for a new generation of imac to be shown at WWDC along side with the Apple Display, with no more 5400rpm or fusion drive, all ssd only vega, improved thermals for the next decade and with it Apple can sell the current design for the next 2-3 years like they did with the classic MBP and how they do now with the Macbook Air

It won’t happen with iMac just getting an update. WWDC will showcase the Mac Pro and new display.
