I went from 1st gen 12.9 to 10.5 and then currently 2nd gen 12.9. I missed the size of the 12.9. You get used to the size. I feel the 10.5 and below are small after using a 12.9. It is also easier to type in with the ASK. It also stays on your lap better than the 10.5. Can't wait for ios 11 on it.

You can almost tell the difference in weight from the first in 12.9 to the second GEN 12.9
Being that I’m so used to the 12.9 As my laptop replacement from my 2015 MacBook Pro 15 inch How are used to caring around a 15 inch laptops or 12.9 is nothing comparably

I noticed the difference, unless it was in my head, and it had been a good while since I used 12.9 gen 1

I upgraded from the first GEN 12.9 to the second GEN 12.9 and I would never go to a smaller iPad again I do absolutely everything on my iPad 12.9 except for going into VR

I tried the 10.5 it’s cool but you still get black bars on the bottom and top when watching movie

Was there that much of a difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2?

I’m not saying that going from the first GEN to the second GEN is worth it just for the weight Alone you have the A10X Fusion chip the embedded SIM card way better on board cameras same as iPhone 7 with $K video recording plus the brand new screen much brighter and P3 wide color + apples new Pro motion 120hz varying refresher rate It’s personal preference if you find all the upgrades worth upgrading from first Gen 12.9 but if you’re switching to an iPad for the first time it’s worth every penny to go to the second GEN 12.9 for sure and if you buy from Hapo you always have 14 day return no questions asked policy I absolutely love it can’t wait to see what comes in third generation 12.9

I am thinking about upgrading to an 12.9 Pro from an Air 2. Worth it or not ?
Yes it is. I upgraded from the Air 2 to the 12.9 Pro just a few weeks ago. It is worth it and its much better then the Air 2. Depending on what you use the iPad for the 12.9 will be a excellent choice. Also the 12.9 Pro is not too big to carry around.

Totally subjective question. You need to look at the differences between what you have and what a different model provides and decide if the dollar outlay is worth it. The answer is different for different people. I considered the same question (current Air 2 vs update to 9.7, 10.5, or 12.9) and my answer was "no" because the differences were not worth the dollar outlay to me.
