Considering the talk about this year's iPhone, you haven't really heard anything that really has people talking... I haven't heard anything that makes this iPhone a must-buy. This is supposed to be the Year of the iPhone 7, but yet people are talking like this is another S. I'd like to know what people think this launch is going to be.

An easy decision to pass on another dull iPhone

Better Choice:

Note 7 on pre-order.

Gorgeous 5.7" hi-res display
Much smaller and stylish than iPhone
Lighter with comfortable ergonomics
Greater functionality
Thin sleek bezels
Wonderful stylus
Note came a long way. I remember note 3...but to get to 7...time sure went fast.

I was planning to skip the 7. But the only one I was fooling was myself. I have to have the latest phone.

But I'm undecided on whether to stick with the 4.7 or go back to the plus.

For the first time ever I'm considering a Samsung. I'll have to play with it some. It would also mean that both my work and home phone are android. Sigh...

The sensible decision is to stay with my 6s plus for another year but...

Are you talking about something like file transfer?

No. I currently have a Moto X as my work phone and a 6s plus as my own personal phone. If I replace my iPhone, both devices would be android and I would effectively have left iOS completely since I don't own an iPad.

I owned the Note 3. I was really fond of that phone. I went caseless and it was great. Sure, GPS sucked (Ingress), and it had WiFi problems... but I liked it. Note 4 didn't interest me so I went back to iPhone (6+) and was happy. Coworkers with the Note 4 aren't happy with it, even considering going to iPhone even though they are heavy Android fans.

The S7 Edge is interesting. I've held it. I've used it. The camera is nice. Don't think I'd trade it, with Verizon's adware, for my iPhone 6s+. Note 7? Hmm. If S7 is any indication with Verizon...

Recently held and used a OnePlus 3 and was very impressed. Android has come a long way but adware is still probably my biggest quirk (Verizon). I don't think I'd give up AppleCare+ and ability to text/call from my Macbook.

Sorry for the ... long winded post - leading up to a direct reply to the OP: Yeah, the 7 didn't interest me when I had my 6+, so 3 months ago, sold my 6+ to get the 6s+ to hop on the Apple Upgrade Program because I wasn't going to wait for the 7. 2GB of ram, faster touch id, and 12mp camera was worth it. I'm happy with my 6s+ and won't be stressing the 7 at all. Next year? I'll be looking to upgrade, tho probably with Apple. May even wait another year to get most value for my $.

My money is ready to buy the phone outright, but I'll have to wait for the fall keynote to decide what phone I buy.

Edit: While the 2017 is rumored to be pretty big, I buy iPhones based on what is announced. Coming from the 6, if I find the 7 attractive (in addition to all the 6S features I skipped this last year), then I'll buy it and await what is announced next year.

OH okay. You would have to replace both then.....would be costly.

I'd inly be replacing the 6s plus. But it's a want versus need thing. I'm perfectly happy with the iPhone I have andngettingn a new toy would just be getting a new toy.

Hopefully iOS 10 breaths some new life into things and settled me down haha

I hear you.

Still debating between the Note and iPhone. Samsung has been killing it over the past year. Ever since the S6, Samsung has been on their game. Decisions decisions

Being the Apple loyalist I am, I will be upgrading on day one. I have accepted and understand why/if the 3.5 Jack is deleted. I have said it many times, Apple's ecosystem and other invested hardware has me dedicated. Apple is the only one for me. See you all at the Key Note.

i always like watching these keynotes super exciting :D but coming to the latest and the greatest iPhone it's still one year away from me :(

No matter how much I love my vast Apple world. There's no way I'm buying a phone without a standard headphone jack.

Fingers crossed that it's a bomb and tanks the stock so that they'll come to their senses on the 7S.

my money is ready for the note 7 when i can get it here

then when the 7 plus is out I will view it and see if it's worth it. Unless i'm blown away then note 7 will be my device for the next year at least. Then I will review everything again next year to see if the 2017 iphone is worth it. Chances are though at best the new iphone will have the specs of the note 7 now and god knows what else samsung add for the note 8 next year.

I'm in a similar situation.

By choice, my primary smartphone is a Nexus 6P and my secondary is an iPhone 6S Plus. Admittedly I'm a smartphone addict with several active lines and a variety of phones just for the experience. Working in a Windows/ Mac/ Android/ iOS/ environment simply adds to the cross platform fun. Yet if not for work I might not have anything to do with iOS.

Years as a very satisfied Mac user keep me interested in Apple, but highly disappointed in how they've coasted while hyper focused on profit taking off their loyal iPhone buyers. I _know_ what Apple is capable of, and the current 6S series is most certainly not... Their best work.

I'd truly like an iPhone to be as fun, fast, reliable and capable as my favorite Nexus is, but it's just not. And that's why I'm closer than ever to walking away from Apple. After being patient waiting for them to finally offer a smartphone with a spacious display, instead of the diminutive 4" iPhone, they've still got catching up to do.

A huge slab of a smartphone with an old fashioned mechanical home button is just laughable. Hello Apple... Anybody Home?

iPhone 7 plus for me. Had Galaxy S 1, 3 and Note 4 now its time for a change to Apple!
