I'm debating whether to have my phone go naked or use a case again. While I like how the naked iPhone looks, I worry a bit about how slippery iPhones are, and a case is nice for when I'm tossing my phone a few inches onto the counter/desk, etc.

I always use a wallet case as I don't carry a wallet. If I didn't need a wallet case I'd still have something on it to protect it. At the very least a moment case.

I've never put a case on any iPhone, and I've had every flagship model since launch (including all the Plus sized models). I'm currently using an X, and 512GB Max delivers on Friday. No cases ever, and that includes the new Max when it shows up. I really enjoy the look and feel of these phones and want to be interacting with this precision engineered marvel directly rather than a piece of cheap plastic.

I have one pocket dedicated to my phone (front left). Nothing goes in that pocket other than my phone and my hand. Not even receipts -- this way I never have to make a judgement call. I don't set it on hard surfaces. That's it. I get full resale value at the end of the year because the phone still looks basically new ... usually newer than phones that have been in cases as cases have a tendency to develop a lot of extra micro-scratches on the phone due to grit that builds up in the case.

I got a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case for the XS Max that arrived today from Amazon.

I feel the exact same way. Also got AC+ just in case. I hate cases

As liberal as I am, never have a naked phone. Just ordered a temp case from Amazon until I find what I like. I always add an adhesive card case to add my work access card and perhaps a credit card as well

Was going to go naked as I like to do but when I saw that Forest Green Apple leather case..oooooooooh, I couldnt resist.

Naked when I’m in a safe zone. At my desk, on the couch, in the bed etc. etc. Low risk zones. Medium level case like an incipio duo pro when I consider it to be in a danger zone. Out walking around, when my 2 year old daughter is around, at the gym etc. You get the idea.

So what happens when let's say you go out to a restaurant, where do you place your phone? Unless you bring a towel or something to place it on every time you go out?

Easy. Naked at home, Apple case when I leave.
Constantly having to take it out and put it back into a case would greatly increase the chances of scratches.

This is the most expensive phone I've ever purchased. So there's no chance in hell I'm using this thing naked. I'm not going to risk it. Like most of you guys, I really hate having to add extra bulk and take away from the pure beauty of the device, but at the same time I want to have peace of mind that it is protected from accidents. I can't imagine dropping the thing and shattering the glass. The chances are greatly increased since the entire device is made from glass. As meticulous and careful as I am, I have dropped my previous iPhones in the past, with the worst case being a cracked screen that I had to take into Apple and pay to get a refurbished one because they couldn't replace the screen.

I'm probably going to get the BookBook case from twelvesouth. I love those wallet/folio style cases.

In my pocket. There's almost never a reason for me to have it sitting on the table next to me.

If I really need to have it sitting on the table next to me (which is really rare), I set it on a napkin.

Absolutely not, I’ve never done that, I never plan on doing it. One thing I like about Apple keeping their iPhones and iPads thin is that you can put a reasonably safe case on it without bulking it up.

I plan a silicone Apple case, been using those for awhile I really like them. They are very thin, look great in their simplicity, good qualitity, and give the phone a little more tactile feel since they are so slippery naked. Plus I can change up the look a little by going to a different color case! Some of the colors are nicely vibrant.

Yes.

Dedicate a pocket to it that you don’t throw change, keys, etc in. I do put a leather wallet in the same pocket with it, but have had no issues.

I’ve done this since my first iPhone (apple’s 2ndyear) without issue so far.

I always order a case with every new iPhone. I rock the phone naked, but I like having a case to throw on when I go hiking, mountain climbing, and kayaking.

I’ll probably regret no going with that. I had it in my cart and went with the trusty saddle brown again. Love the way the saddle brown wears over time

Big fan of the saddle brown and have had it for multiple years in the past. Have always wanted a green case from Apple and glad they finally released one. Couldn't add it to my cart fast enough.

you guys getting these gargantuan unwieldy monster phlablets should get the biggest cases possible so you can even more not be able to do anything practical with your garbage brick
