I don't get it, are you actually argue that a 50% rate in this poll translates to a 50% defective rate for the MBP as a whole?

I'm sure it's not 50% but I'm also sure it's very high, even for first revisions. When every MBP I've seen on display have defects, every one of my friends/relatives have had/has a defective MB/P, every MB/P forum I've been to is flooded with defect threads that keep spawning new user accounts with the same defect it's hard to ignore that common sense trigger blaring inside your brain telling you something's not right with Apple QC.

My MacBook is perfect, and this new MBP has very very slight yellowing. It doesn't bother me.

The only thing that defected was me, from Windows to Mac.

My 2.4 GHz 15" has no defects, so far. Perfect.

My MBP has defected to the former Soviet Union. For Mother Russia!

aaaahhhhhahahahaha.... that was the funniest thing i've read on this thread...

well done, Verig0... well done.

for the record, i've 'defected' from macbook pro to a mac pro - i cancelled the order in the knick of time!!!!

Beware the bashers

Jealous competitors of Apple sometimes post bogus criticisms on forums like this to stem the tide of defections from the pc world.

The fact Mac has achieved 6.8% market penetration is disturbing to "them."

Also, a friend says Redmond is not taking the Apple commercials well.

I finally got my MBP last Thursday. It runs fine but when you view it at any angle other than head on the whole screen begins to take on a yellow hue. It gets worse as the angle increases. After hearing all the other issues I am hesitant about returning it, but I just paid $2K plus for this machine and I should be able to share a youtube vid with a pal without him saying "dude, you need to shift the color on that thing!"

BTW. It was a 2.2, Glossy, LG, 24th week MFG.

I know what you mean about Apple's display quality. The display on mine is too small...especially noticeable when working on both the MBP and my 30" ACD. Clearly it's defective and going back on Monday.

Man, you'd make a fine pig on Animal Farm.

I don't get why it's so hard for some people to look at Apple realistically, instead of in some kind of Jobs-induced halo. Let's face it--there are a lot of good books out there, but there are also a lot of buggy ones. Calling the people unfortunate enough to buy one, two, three, or several bum books liars doesn't make the problem go away. It just makes the "nothing is wrong! everything is fine!" people look like zealots.
